I realized that when I post a blog, then I clear the gallery (to make room for a new gallery) my photos disappear from here. I've learned, I think :-)
I've realized a love for photographing seniors. They are fun, willing to play, and have all that future ahead of them! When this senior gal first met up with me she stated: You're gonna have to give me lots of direction. I don't do photos well.
Um...well, she's gorgeous. Her photos are gorgeous. And I loved that even when I lied and said -- oh just this one more, she played along. Even when she thought we were on our way "home". And I also love that anytime I said "give me serious" –- I ended up with a photo of her cracking up laughing, which I loved even more than the serious. AND how when I said do this – and she said...that doesn't seem right – we ended up with a gorgeous photo.
I love these photos. And getting to know this family has been great too – they are awesome!

I've had the honor of photographing these two sweet heart girls before. One at 1 year...the other at 10 days...and again now. Big sister is so sweet and so funny. Little sister was a girl on the move (just learning to walk does that to a girl!) And it was even mom and dad's anniversary -- so we made them get in on the action too. And what's sweet too -- when I photographed little sister at 10 days old, I photographed her in a basket with a purple tutu on....ANd then did it again this time, at 1 year (same basket!)
The challenge is to Rock the Shot with sun flare. Sun flare is a warm light that hits the camera and creates a glow to the scene.
During this shoot, we were in their backyard. I was telling the girls to be serious and they.could.not.do.it :-)

So 8 cousins, from 3 families got together to give their grandma a wonderful mother's day present. It was so fun. You'd never believe how serious they are in the photos from the fun they were having behind the scenes. And can I say: gorgeous eyes? ALL OF THEM!
And...I may have a thing for babies. And this 4 month old didn't disappoint. See M cousins portfolio for more!
There's a new baby. I love it. I have to stop myself from snuggling to take the photos.
Those little mouth movements. The yawns.
Well, little Paul is about 14 days new. And he had to have been the strongest 14 day old I've met. Swaddling him – nope. He kicked and pulled his arms right out.
Paul has an awesome big brother who was always willing to help. And wanted to play.
And the family has a lovely backyard...
However Paul didn't want to sleep through any of it (who can blame him -- this is cool stuff getting a photoshoot). And we really wanted some snuggly baby shots...and baby wasn't having it. But no worries. We will try again!
Rain has been creating havoc on my photography plans this year. This shoot was rescheduled about 4 times. But it was worth the wait. The girls were beautiful. The location worked well for a quick shoot. And the sun even cooperated.
Next time – mom and dad are getting in these photos!

I had little faith.
But because there were multiple families coming from out of town, we tried to make it work. It had been raining. All. Day. Not just a little, like downpours.
We decided we'd try to set up in a shelter house at a park. But about the time I was setting that up, the clouds parted and we had a beautiful setting.
It was dry for 1 hour. So I had to go back to finish up the one family's photos, but worth the wait.
